We know that just after 10:30 a.m., a commercial vehicle carrying over 25 passengers, including both adults and children, had departed from the Los Angeles area onboard an Executive Lines charter from El Monte, CA and was headed to San Ysidro, with a final stop planned in Tijuana

It was raining when the bus suddenly swerved and lost control in the southbound lanes of the freeway, just south of state Route 76. The bus had veered off the 15 Fwy in rainy conditions rolling over and down the embankment. The vehicle slid down an embankment and landed on its roof. The North County Fire Protection District said the crash happened just south of Highway 76, ejecting multiple passengers from the vehicle. Firefighters rescued several others who were trapped and injured inside the bus. None of the decedents are children.
